A view of the air traffic controller’s station in the control tower at CZBB, Boundary Bay airport. The screen on the left and flush with the desktop show a “strip” for each aircraft approaching, in, or departing from CZBB’s airspace. These are touch-screens, so the controller can move a strip from one section to another with the swipe of a fingertip. The dark display with the lines is a radar view of the regional airspace. The knobs and dials on the far side of the centre desk show weather information such as wind and air pressure. The small screen on the right operates the computer system. Taken on January 28, 2012.
