Our featured topic:
Underneath every Joomla website, driving almost every component and module, is a MySQL database. Jim DeLaHunt will pull back the covers, letting you take a peek at this database, how the information is stored in there, and giving you suggestions on what kind of useful operations you can perform by direct access to the database. We will look at: browsing through Joomla user records, seeing how menus are stored, stepping through a component’s content, exporting and converting data, and — most importantly — backup and restore of the database. Doing surgery on a database takes some technical skills. But this talk will also be accessible to the non-technical Joomla site operator, so that you can understand what the database does for you, why it matters, and what is possible by working directly on the database. There will be plenty of time for a Q&A.
We’ll have a great discussion, I expect. I hope to see you there!
